No membership organization has the backs of CFP® professionals like FPA.

A cornerstone of any profession is the willingness of those in the profession to have their voices heard. Engaging in activities that make FPA more visible, as well as CFP ® professionals more visible at all levels, will ensure our members and profession are held in a high regard by state and federal policymakers and the public. FPA is uniquely positioned to advocate on behalf of our members and develop the means for our members and chapters to have their voices heard on issues of importance to them, their businesses, and their clients.

FPA Advocacy in Illinois

State Advocacy Days help you connect with your local legislators and regulators to build important relationships that help influence the right people. FPA Advocacy seeks to advance and protect your profession by proactively seeking out those who vote on issues that affect your profession. Ask your Advocacy Chapter Leader how to start or participate in an Advocacy Day in your state. Lance Eaton CFP ® -

FPA D.C. Advocacy Day

The 7th Annual FPA D.C. Advocacy Day will be held June 23, 2020 in Washington, D.C. Last year, 85 FPA members participated in the event, visiting more than 90 congressional offices. Members were able to participate in a pro bono event with D.C. Hill staffers or attend the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commissions' open meeting, where SEC Commissioners voted on the Regulation Best Interest Rule Package. After the SEC voted, SEC Commissioner Hester Pierce spoke to FPA members at the FPA Education Symposium.

Join us for our FPA Education Symposium on Tuesday, June 2 and our D.C. Advocacy Day on Wednesday, June 3.
