The 529 CE presentation is designed to educate advisors on strategies to assist families with the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as well as Estate Planning strategies using 529s. The presentation will discuss how assets or weighted on the FAFSA form as well as multigenerational planning and uses for 529 plans.


Recent Gallup polls have found College Funding to be American Families number one financial concern. This education will equip advisors with the knowledge base to effectively plan for their clients college costs. By understanding the FAFSA, Advisors can provide clients with money saving strategies when seeking out financial aid. This allows for deeper financial advisor relationships with parents and grandparents.


Joseph is the dedicated College Savings Consultant for the Midwestern United States for OppenheimerFunds. In his capacity, he represents 3 unique advisor sold 529 plans and is a resource to Financial Advisors on all things related to College Planning and FAFSA.  Joseph has over 9 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry, 5 of which have been spent with OppenheimerFunds. Prior to Oppenheimer he held a position at Janus Capital Group. Joseph has an Education background as well, having spent 4 years as a teacher in both New York City and Denver.


Joseph holds a B.S. and M.S. from Hunter College, the City University of New York.
