INDEPENDENT SALES CONTRACTOR

Borthwick Associates, a boutique Chicago Investment Advisor, seeks Independent Sales Contractor. Combine your strong selling skills with our excellent long-term performance record to introduce new business to Borthwick. We offer a generous revenue sharing compensation plan. Previous experience in financial markets is preferred.

Independent Sales Contractors are responsible for identifying and pre-qualifying potential new clients. Once a potential client has been screened, Contractors arrange for an initial meeting with the partners/portfolio managers of Borthwick Associates. At this meeting the portfolio managers will convey our firm’s investment philosophy and answer any questions in detail.

Our client, a sophisticated and growing family office, for an old and substantial Chicago based family seeks a wise, self confident and engaging professional to join their “think tank” and collaborate with other professionals on behalf of the family. This office serves significant trusts, complex investment partnerships, foundations and four family lines, totaling 49 adult households. The VP-Client Services will assist and consult the family members with a wide variety of planning needs:

Tax planning- income, gift and compliance

  • Financial Planning- consolidated personal financial statements, assets and individual investments, cash planning management, planning for home purchases
  • Estate Planning- general planning ideas & co-ordinate with outside advisors, wealth transfer planning
  • Individual annual meetings to discuss personal plans, concerns & issues
  • Insurance oversight and co-ordination

Requirements:

CLIENT SERVICE MANAGER (CSM) 
SOUTH SUBURBAN FINANCIAL SERVICES FIRM

INVESTMENT STAFF ACCOUNTANT - FAMILY OFFICE

This Investment Staff Accountant will be responsible for accounting and bookkeeping for the Family Office. The Family Office provides financial, accounting and tax services to six Partners and related entities. These services cover the Partners’ individual finances as well as investment partnerships. This unique Family Office does not get involved with daily small business accounting.   Specific duties include:
  • Bank and brokerage account reconciliations
  • Cash management
  • Preparation of monthly financial reports and quarterly financial statements, etc.
  • The candidate will also help administer/control the filing of income tax returns.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience. Experience with Partnership Accounting/Investment Banking/Hedge Funds/Income Taxes is a huge plus! Previous experience with QuickBooks, Quicken, and Microsoft Office is required. Strong organizational skills are a must.
