Pro Bono Committee
It’s what you give. Promote the awareness of the Illinois FPA by providing pro-bono financial planning services to targeted audiences. Increase the public's awareness of the value of financial planning by publicizing the Illinois FPA pro-bono financial planning activities.

Career Development Committee
Work with academia. To assist individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in financial planning   with three different initiatives: The Internship Program, Mid-career/Mentorship Program, and a Regional CFP Residency Program. Work closely with universities in the Midwest Region who offer a financial planning degree and recruit financial planning firms to participate in the internship program.

Government Relations Committee
Have a passion for politics. Help develop relationships and contacts with local state legislators and administrators as well as state legislative staff. Organize groups of members to visit these legislators and administrators locally and in Springfield.

Professional Alliances and Community Service Committee
Do you play well with others? Help identify groups on a local, regional, or state level who share similar concerns and issues related to the financial services industry. Coordinate the development and ongoing relationship with such groups and seek opportunities to sponsor joint initiatives.

Finance Committee
If money is your game. The finance committee is responsible for budgeting and managing the day-to-day financial activities of the Chapter. Review, prepare and coordinate budgets for the State board as well as the councils.

Council Relations Committee
Are you a bridge builder? Committee members serve as the liaison between the six regional Illinois councils and the State Board. Meet with council boards and members to stay abreast of current developments. Seek opportunities to nurture existing and creation of new study groups.

Partnership/Sponsorship Committee
Raising the bar. A new area of concentration and focus for the Chapter, committee members will be exploring ways to develop a true partnership with those who support and deliver financial planning. This committee should be comprised of high minded individuals who have an ability to think “outside the box” in generating methods, ideas and plans to create a new and exciting atmosphere for our members and partners.

Programs Committee
Take center stage. Help develop, organize and create energizing, entertaining and informative membership programs. Meet with some of the country’s biggest names in investing, finance, money matters and more.

Financial Forum Committee
Rise to the top. Take part in creating the marquis event of the year for FPA Illinois – our annual Financial Forum will be held in June 2007. The event, while challenging in its design, is the assembling point for our members. Committee members will be involved in planning everything from break out sessions to key-note speakers. Come bring your creative forces.

Membership Committee
Build stronger bonds. Reach out to those who deliver and support the financial planning process but are not yet at the Heart of Financial Planning.

Corporate Membership Committee
David and Goliath? Instead of fighting larger organizations, abundant opportunity exists in embracing larger firms whose values of the financial planning process are aligned with FPA of Illinois Meet and greet corporate chieftains in reaching out and bringing them into the Heart of Financial Planning.

Membership Communications Committee
In addition to publishing the twice monthly E-Bulletin and the quarterly newsletter, we coordinate promotion of all chapter and council activities. We also coordinate all Public Awareness and Public Events activities such as Media Relations, Money Smart Week, and National Financial Planning Week. Large and active, there is always room for long and short term interests of member volunteers.
 
Public Awareness Committee
Newsworthy? Help develop and maintain a network of contacts to act as a responsive resource for our media partners. Provide a list of media trained FPA of Illinois to serve as a resource in articles on financial services and issues. Help promote Central activities such as Pro Bono and with Council committees to support public relations efforts at the Council level.

Technology Committee
Are you a talented techie? The FPA of Illinois website is undergoing a complete overhaul. Continue the development process with your tech savvy insights in how technology can bring us all closer together. Join the committee that lifted FPA of Illinois as a national leader in technology.
